Understood.  I've had the same prob scanning text with Catchword.  :-<
 
Suggestion: Once you get it into a .TXT file, use a search-and-replace
function: Search for 2 spaces, "  " and replace with one space " ".  Run
this several times until no more double spaces are found.  Then if you
want 2 spaces between sentences, search ". " and replace with ".  ".
Q-edit does this easily.  (Sorry, a little over a postcard.)  :-[
