Most of this was in the other post directly from the HTML source.
This is the last post I prefer to make about this since it seems no matter
what is said you want to either dismiss it or argue it, I choose to do
neither. I happen to work enough with HTML to construct pages and have worked
with oec/mecca stuff from the beginning in opus. I use NETSCAPE and EUDORIA
daily as well as w95 and NT because my job requires it. I don't claim to be
an expert, but I do know how this stuff works on more than a passing basis.
It also seems that others have already written conversion programs to take
FILES.BBS and make it HTML. Seems other software authors beyond MSI also
think there is room for products that straddle both areas:
WEBBBS11.ZIP [ ] WebBBS runs on your Bulletin Board System as a door
program. When callers connect to your BBS using
combination internet browser & modem terminal software
such as I-comm they will see HTML pages with SVGA
pictures, WWW internet style web pages just like on
internet.
All I ever requested was that future opus work moves in that direction. The
developer didn't say it could not happen, you did. For all I know someone
might write a combined term prog/offline reader/browser that doesn't care
what it is dialing or receiving because it is smart enough to handle all of
it.
With the new java stuff coming almost anything could happen...... end of
thread.
