Are you sure you're not confusing Ethernet with Arcnet? "Internal
termination", (on the card) is typical with Arcnet NICs but not
Ethernet.
Can you recall the name of one of these Ethernet devices? I'd like to
take a look at one if I can find one in my area. If not, I might be
able to get a copy of the spec sheet on one through the manufacturer.
In any case, you've got my curiosity up.
