SH>I did spend a largish amount of time porting Pascal doors to FPC... SH>when debugging became effectivly impossible to to compiler errors, I SH>simply stopped working on them... it's faster to translate the SH>program into a language that DOES compile correctly on the target SH>platform (Something I did with TimePort) than it is to SH>port/debug/unit debug/compiler debug the program in its native SH>language. I haven't personally used any of the Pascal compilers under Linux. However, from what I've heard of them most of the Pascal programmers seem to be complaining not that the Pascal compiler isn't working to the Pascal standards, but that it's not emulating the bugs that their own Windows/DOS compiler had in them. Which then brings the question, what's better? Another broken compiler? Or one that actually implements the Pascal standards properly? þ CMPQwk 1.42 1960 þThe gene pool has no lifeguard ~~~ Telegard/QWK v3.09.g2-sp4/mL --- MirageNet HQ!* Origin: The InnerSpace BBS - 757-491-2322 - MirageNet HQ!
