You've probably heard rumors of this snow that hit the northeast on
April Fool's Day. Heck, it's possible you got some of that snow. I
debated with myself on how to handle it. Should I deny its existence?
After all, spring *is* here. But I decided not to. It really did snow
on April first, folks. And that snow was, for me, a surrealistic
experience. I got to drive in the snow. Now, I've driven in snow many
times before, but I seldom venture out when the wind is so fierce the
snow is literally flying parallel to the ground. But I had an
appointment I had to keep. I drove through this grey white maze that
looked all the world like a winter snowstorm. Except these puffs of
bright yellow forsythia, pink Russian tulips and peach blossoms, and
red maple flowers kept appearing through the grey-whiteness. It was
actually eerie. And extremely lovely. I am working on a poem to
express the mood.
Now, today is April third; and it's 71 f (about 20 c) degrees out there.
It's hard to figure these things out.
