There is no such setting that I can find in either the printed manual or in
the softcopy TRM288 file.

I appreciate your attempts to assist with the Zoom problems. My comment about
making "less and less sense" was meant to illustrate my point that I'm
getting WORSE UNFORCED connects at 26.4Kbps with Couriers than when I was
getting FORCED MAX connects at 26.4 Kbps with Couriers.
Perhaps a Hayes support rep will be able to further illuminate the issue.
