Agreed.  The right tool for the right job.  I'm sure if I worked in a 
different field, I'd come to use Java more (and maybe get over my 
frustrations).  As it is, EDA tools for contemporary VLSI designs are not 
likely to be written in Java - at least not in my lifetime.
