Ha! Oh gosh! That was a major blooper on my part, but an honest mistake, and
by no means an attempt to rewrite history. I'll leave that to Big Brother.

But the point remains that Truman was president when the bombs were dropped on
Japan in August of 1945, and it was Truman who signed the executive order,
thus making those horrific attacks possible.

That being said, the question remains why he chose to drop the second bomb,
considering how much devastation was wrought by the first bomb. Surely the
Japanese got the message with the first bomb. Thus, while I continue to
believe that neither bomb was necessary, I hold to the position that the
second bomb was even less necessary than the first.

I simply do not like America's long history of destructive warfare, which has
continued to this very day. The eagle is so befitting of America's nature.
Attack the prey and mercilessly rip it apart. Too many innocent civilians have
needlessly died because of America's overly aggressive nature. There is simply
no way to justify it, and in my view, her cup of iniquity is quickly becoming
full.
