Rob,

RG> I recently upgraded to PFW 5.0 from the first window's
RG> version, and have had trouble with the conversion. The
RG> First Problem is with windows for workgroups, it ran
RG> fine before, but since the upgrade, having two users
RG> access pfw at the same time knocks them both out. The
RG> idapi pointer seems to be fine. Any ideas?
First, I'd make sure that a) both user have unique user names, b) both users
are using the same .NET file, and c) that both users have rights to the
target directory _and_ are using separate private directories.

Next, I'd look at the configuration. First, make sure you're not using
32-bit file access; it's broken--period. Also, see whether or not you're
using VSHARE (as opposed to SHARE). If you are, then make sure you've set
the Windows component of SMARTDRV to be no higher than 128KB. (again, there
are problems.)

If these don't help, get ahold of the TI's that Tech has on WFWG. There's
about three or four (if memory serves) and they outline configuration tips
and so forth.
RG> The Second Problem is regarding reports. I changed the tables to 5.0,
RG> and then designed a new report. The report works fine
 RG> until I deliver it.
RG> ...but then an error message comes up that
RG> says something like 'the version of objectpal used is
RG> from a previous version, this form must be recompiled
 RG> from source.'
Check to make sure that there aren't any extra copies of the report floating
around--perhaps in the private directory or some other source directory.
Also, make sure that the delivered version in the directory that you're using
is compiled from a _saved_ report design, e.g. one that you've explicitly
saved in 5.0. (That shouldn't make much difference, but there are
differences in the file format between 4.5 and 5.0, so it may help.

Hope it does...
