You had some 3rd party app that needed the max 2.0 version of the control
files.  Since you stated later in the messages that you didn't use groups,
that's probably why you choose -2a instead of the -2u that I used....

Unfortunately for you, the GPL'ed maximus is the 3.x code.  And, you don't
have to use the group functionality (of Max 3.0) if you don't want to.  If
you want to see an implementation of the group usage, check out what I've
done at 1:343/41 (or telnet://tophat.darktech.org ).  Yes, there are pluses
and minuses of using this option....  I had too many areas (both message
and file) on line to not do something to break them up....
