I think you actually have to put the full command line, including the temporary
file that msged creates of the message. ie:

editor /usr/bin/vi  /path/to/msged.tmp

Something in those lines should pull up the message you're trying to reply to
as a quote. Here I use nano with Golded. Here's my config line:

editinternal no
editmenu no
edithardlines no
editreplyre yes

dispsoftcr no
screenblanker 0

editorfile /usr/fido/out.tmp/golded.msg
editor /usr/local/bin/nano -E -S -c -m -t -w -$ --syntax=msg
/usr/fido/out.tmp/golded.msg

[snip end]

Some of the above might not work with msged, but it might.. :)
