Hi Bob. Some of what you are saying is indeed true; nevertheless, as we all
know, history is written by the victor, and victors will do anything, say
anything and write anything, in order to convince the public of their version
of the story, as a means to try to justify their horrible actions. As such, I
view all historical accounts with considerable skepticism, particularly when
they deal with political and military events.

Concerning the Japanese straggler soldiers who refused to surrender, because
they believed that the war was still on, yes, we've had some of those here on
Guam.
