subject: Maliki And Other Thugs

As I have pointed out before, while ex-President George W. Bush, and
presidents before him, have long boasted of how the U.S. military is helping
to spread freedom and democracy around the world, and of how the U.S.A.
champions human rights in foreign lands, what we never hear from any U.S.
president, is that the U.S. Government has also had a long-standing policy of
supporting and empowering dictators, thugs and other riffraff around the
world as well, as long as those thugs and tyrants do America's bidding.

Furthermore, the U.S. Government turns a blind eye when these rogue leaders
perpetrate atrocities against their own people. The U.S. Government may
verbally slap them on the wrist to keep up the appearance of being the
champion of human rights, but that is as far as it usually goes.

Let me give you a few examples.

Before Saddam Hussein was demonized, he was a friend and ally of the U.S.A.,
and Uncle Sam sided with him, and supplied him with weapons, during the
eight-year Iraq-Iran war. Saddam led a reign of terror in Iraq for almost 24
years, yet the American government turned a blind eye to his crimes, just as
long as he was pumping the oil.

The same can be said of Moammar al-Gaddafi, who has ruled Libya since 1969.
He is an absolute dictator. He was America's friend, before being accused of
being a bad boy. Recently, al-Gaddafi supposedly made amends, and is now
considered a friend of the U.S.A. again.

The same goes for Hosni Mubarak who has ruled Egypt with an iron hand since
1981. He tolerates zero opposition to his regime. His corrupt government
receives billions of dollars in aid from the U.S.A. every single year.

Pervez Musharraf, the former military dictator of Pakistan likewise falls
into this class. The only reason that the U.S.A. abandoned him recently, is
because he fell from grace in his own country.

Hafez al-Assad, another ruthless dictator, was the former leader of Syria
who ruled for some 30 years. Like the others, he had his secret police, etc.
Prior to his death, al-Assad even went to the U.S.A. for medical treatment.
In more recent years, the U.S. Government has used Syria as one of its
secret locations for its unlawful "extraordinary rendition" program.
Al-Assad, and his son, Bashar, the current leader of Syria, are also members
of the Baath Party, just as Saddam Hussein was.

And there are other ruthless leaders the U.S.A. has supported as well. These
men are, or were, absolute dictators in their countries, who don't, or
didn't, tolerate any criticisms of their regimes. Torture, political
assassinations, secret police, imprisoning their political enemies, closing
"unpatriotic" news organizations who criticize the government, etc., were,
or have been, part of their strategies in order to remain in power. Again,
the U.S.A. has supported these men without blinking an eye, because they
have been of some advantage to the U.S.A.

And what about communist China, which is extremely guilty of human rights
violations? Again, the U.S. Government gives the Chinese leaders a light
slap on the wrist, and then keeps smiling, because China is a huge trading
partner.

Another leader who is currently relying upon these very same illegal tactics
in order to remain in power is Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, the
current "leader" of Iraq. This man is an absolute thug who has President
Bush's full support. He is America's puppet dictator; and the only reason
why the U.S.A. supports him, is because he will keep the oil flowing to
America. That's the deal. If you would like to see what Maliki is now up to,
just check out this article called "35 Iraq Officials Held in Raids on Key
Ministry":

So when American presidents boast about spreading freedom, democracy and
human rights abroad, please take it with a huge grain of salt . . . and
don't forget George W. Bush's crimes against American citizens. Has your
telephone been bugged lately, or has your email been sniffed by Uncle Sam?
Maybe Bush has learned a few things from his overseas friends. What would
Bush have given us next? American concentration camps and an American Abu
Ghraib? After all, just speaking against HIS war was labeled "unpatriotic".

Think about it.
