After the Rapture,
the world will quickly realize what has happened, the disappearance of
millions without a trace, just as foretold in the Bible long ago. And after
all, Christ has made sure that the world has become aware
of the Rapture by many popular ways today. After the Rapture,
the global intensive search made by the world to find out why so few were
taken by Christ, and why those particular ones
while not hundreds of millions of others, will soon find the reason:
That older Protestant theology about the imputation of the righteousness of
Christ, that came to be disregarded and ignored, made all the difference.
Christ took only those whose trust was in him alone because those are the
only ones he regards as having his own righteousness, the requirement for
salvation. The people of the world will be frantic, the churches will be
full,
hundreds of millions will be pleading for Christ to take them also,
because the world will know
that the global Tribulation has come. That will especially be so with
those people who professed to be Christian, even professed faith alone in
Christ alone, but were not trusting in Christ alone, but rather were
trusting also in things that should definitely be done,
but things never to trust in for salvation, that are the result not the
cause of salvation, things such as repentance, personal commitment,
surrender, baptism, church, sacrament, giving, service, endurance.
The people of the world will be wondering if there is any hope for them.
Some denominations will hardly
be missing any of their people;
others will be missing some here and some there. Many leaders, even famous,
will still be on earth. People will wonder why their churches preached
salvation by surrender rather than the gospel that saves. The world will
wonder why they did not hear the gospel of grace so that they might have
escaped the Tribulation: The moment anyone places all their trust in Christ
alone with absolutely no trust in their own "righteousness",
Christ regards his righteousness as though theirs so that they have eternal
life.
