Since England, Iceland, and Greenland had not fallen, there wasn't much of
an air threat . . . yet.  But there were sub attacks all along the East
Coast, and even in the Gulf of Mexico.  Are you seriously arguing that
Germany was not a threat to the US at the time they declared war on us?
