Therefore, my trying to explain would be useless. That no one seems to care
is something I can live with. That I never do is also something few would
get into a knot over. There are a few with whom I pleasantly converse, a
few who amuse my haughty nature, and it's also a typing exercise...

(sigh) To explain: That someone who thought that your opinion was valuable
would be disparaged by you was, I thought, worthy of a "Wow!" :-)

I recall the argument differently. 
You don't by raising the bar lower it because it is set lower in another
area.  A distinction between argument and quarrel...debate and flame.
Disagreement without epithet. Different echoes. Different rules.
Undoubtedly at times undergoing different implementation of the rules. What
the hell, it's fun and free.
