-> On 04-06-09, JOHNJWILSON said to JEFF SNYDER: -> -> -> -> Clearly, there is something wrong with our society... -> -> -> -> so many...adopt such indifference when it -> -> comes to the ugly issue of abortion, and the pre-meditated, -> -> cold-blooded slaughter of over 1.37 million unborn, innocent -> -> children annually in the United States of America alone. -> -> -> JJ>Although I don't _completely_ think that parents should be allowed to -> JJ>dispense with their children (up to the age of two)I do believe that every -> JJ>birth should be for a wanted child. And the decision should be made by th -> JJ>mother...and we should rid ourselves of thinking that a Catholic dogma -> JJ>should rule and be considered a 'fact'. When a natural abortion occurs do -> JJ>you think that God is killing an innocent child? -> -> -> -> You seem to be going down the wrong track, here. Everybody gets all demanding -> -we-do-something about underage drinking when the death statistics for auto -> accidents come out involving underage drinkig and driving. -> -> -> Not a year goes by in this county that doesn't have its multiple-death -> accident involving just-graduated high school kids, and alchohol. -> -> -> Typically, the teenage driver responsible for the accident was drunk from -> celebrating either graduation, or the pre-graduation spring break. And... -> almost every time, they take out one or more innocent other teens who had -> their whole life ahead of them, their parents had saved for their college -> education, and had high hopes for their child's future. -> -> -> But.........mention the deaths resulting from abortion each year,,,,and -> suddenly its `well,,,,the decision should be made by the mother'! Yeah, I should have included a (sigh) -- the alternative is lying and coat hangers...politicians and religious teaching. I wonder what the stats are on a) The number of attempted abortions that resulted in death...how many in hospital...I'll guess there are a lot more totals than are reported. In any event, I'm thankful the topic/problem never came up in my now-grown family. -> -> -> A lot of abortion could be prevented by responsible birth-preventive -> practices, just as many traffic deaths of young people can be prevented by -> responsible enforcement of under-aged drinking laws. Sooo...who bell's the cat? Parents and teachers in the former case, I have no idea as to the latter. My wife's idea: put birth control pills in the drinking water. People would have to take anti-whatever shots before they become fertile...I figure, what the hey; it's something the government could spend trillions of dollars on...and Merik stock would go through the roof. As to solving the problem I have no idea. Whaddaya think? -> -> -> How can anyone possibly rage about `there ought to be tough, strict laws' to -> prevent people too young to purchase and consume alchoholic beverages; (I just know you'll be impresses with this :-) -The French toddlers and kids drink wine with their meals...but that all I know about ooh ooh -land. ...that same person who is deemed -> `irresponsible' is suddenly qualified to decide the life or death of a human -> fetus? Tell me first: who takes care of the child? -> I get so mad over this issue it isn't even funny! I am puzzled by a lot of things that I can't bring my self to anger over. That's merely one. -> --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5* Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
