On the day after the Nagasaki bomb, August 10, 1945 the Japanese offered
to surrender. This was thru the Swiss government, who informed the US
government. The Japanese also agreed to the surrender as posed in the
Potsdam agreement in the same message. Apparently already aprised of the
contents by the Swiss.
