I recently bought an 8 gigabyte drive that is smaller than a Bic lighter, plugs into any of the two or three USB holes on the front of my tower, or in the rear. I transfered all my Fido stuff from my hard drives onto it, and when I download .qwk packets from the two sources I use, they go directly to the archive I'm keeping the current packets in. It also has the convenience of being able to plug into my Dell laptop, and go with me to other locations where I work, and I can download a packet early on Saturday morning, unplug the drive and put it in my laptop case, and take it to work with me. I've got all day to read the packet. I also keep files related to my career field on it, so the next time a C: drive wipes out on me, I don't have to go to such efforts to either recover needed files, or re-create them. Zip-100's? I didn't know they still made them! --- *Durango b301 #PE** Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 123/140 500 261/38 633/260 267 |
