Ross, yes, Germany declared war on the USA, but tell me, was there really any
threat to the continental USA? Did you see any German planes flying over the
US mainland at any time. That's like saying that Saddam Hussein's SCUDS were a
serious threat to the USA. The Iraq scare was ridiculous to say the least.

As far as Japan is concerned, yes, they attacked, and they struck, but it is
important to realize where they struck...military installations far removed
from the US mainland, because that was the limit of their capabilities. I
don't think the Japanese or the Germans ever really posed a serious threat to
the US mainland. They both knew that if they got too close, they didn't stand
a chance against American fire power...at least so me thinks. :)
