When the server rebooted, some corruption was detected on the hard drive. 
VREPAIR probably ran automatically and fixed the problem by truncating the 
files.
CONSOLE.LOG is a log of what's displayed on the console. No problem resetting 
it to zero. Most .TMP files can be deleted.
I'm not sure exactly what audit.ctl does.
