boot systemresquecd
zcat /proc/config.gz /mnt/gentoo/usr/src/linux/.config
chroot to the install harddisk as dokumented in howto install gentoo
then make the kernel with following genkernel
genkernel --oldconfig --no-menuconfig all
then add / update grub2 config with
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
now you have a local compiled copy of the kernel that booted your computer from
the iso file
this can be used with ANY new kernel version, dont make changes to OLD kernel
config, if you need to make changes make sure you have new kernel source
version emerged first, so you always have one OLDer kernel that is unchanged
and works
Regards Benny
... there can only be one way of life, and it works :)
