GoldEd has the same features as MsgEd, and then some. GoldEd also has better
character translation support than MsgEd, even though both are lacking. GoldEd
can translate 256 characters while MsgEd can only do 128, if I remember
correctly.

Both of them require shelling out to an external editor if you want all
translations, though.
