Yes this here that gentoo-sources say now kernel 3.17.7
The last 3-4 builds trying of new create linux with kernel 3.16.5 was not
complete after the handbook but after the old way with harddisk of sda1=boot
sda2=swap sda3=root (sda4=/home) where the handbook said another done of
partion by a sda1=2M og bios partion and sda2=boot sda3=swap and sda4=root and
the first of it why done by the harddisk not was big for it as 80G and 300G,
this new made build should have enough of space as they is 1tb ones.
By I is home with my girlfriend at her house and with her daughter there is a
young woman and allway like to be near with me and lookin g on what I am
working with. I started with the Gentoo installation with having 3 computers
for use and checked on what there is of components in the pc I amd installing
Gentoo on, and it has a external vga monitor card with 1G mem, 2 ram chips, 4
sata connectors, 2 usb connections, 1 intern onboard netcard + 2 10/100bps
netcard connectors, 2 Giga highspeed 10/100/1000 bps netcard connectors, then
is there 2 external netcards in use, then is the motherboard and cpu 64bit. The
same as there is on my own 2 64bit pc's at my home + my fido1 pc is a 64bit pc.
At my work here by my girlfriend I have my own room as a computer office, and I
have made a computer with dual boot with 2 harddisk on the pc I use here, win7
and Gentoo 3.8 boot. I then by the evening lent my girlfirends pc there has a
windows 7 installation there can be boot up to Gentoo 3.8 and both boot if it
is Windows or Gentoo can go remote to my fido 1 and where I can check for new
fido mail of messages. But with my girlfriends pc for online to my system at
home and my own pc here done to make a new harddisk Gentoo install and setup
have my girlfriens daughter taken her laptop on to internet to get in to Gentoo
handbook and she have 2 stationary pc and a laptop as she only now is home for
vacation from her own home.
I started install Gentoo and then let the young woman do it installation after
a hour and while I sitting beside her and helping her with doing as she is read
the handbook and do what it telling to do.
GA>> So the best way is to recompile the kernel when it has working for

MK>Personally I am not a big fan of python and have been avoiding needing
MK>it but am sure that the Gentoo people would disagree with me. Same
MK>could be said for the Debian and probably the Archlinux crowd ... not
MK>to mention the Android dweebs while I am at it. ;-)
I will later too try to see if I can make my fido1 main fido pc get made a new
better kernel than the last done of 3.16.5 and make a 3.17.7 kernel there will
work better for Husky where the 3.16.5 fine startup but not work for msged tere
get crashing of memory when trying read mail, now is the fido pc only like to
work 64bit 2.6.39 so if kernel 3.17.7 can do it better than 3.16.5 and then
freeing mem for msged working as it shall so I not need to use Golded+ to only
checking for dupes and badarea.
Take care,
Gert
