It took me 3 months to find the bomb-proof mare I just bought!  I found her 
in the Want Advertiser (of all places!).  If you have one of those weekly 
magazines that sells everything, you might check there.  There were tons of 
horses listed for sale in the one that covers our area.
Also, check sales barns, vets, farriers, etc.  Anyone who has daily contact 
with the horse world might be able to help you out.
