I don't know but in ncurses there is a call to detect terminal
capabilities.  Unless the remote's terminal doesn't respond to the query
then it should work if this functionality is built into Max.

Me too, but ever since I switched to Linux way back when I haven't had a
BBS running.  It would be nice if the first one was Maximus, if for no
other reason then fo oldtime's sake.
