And I used to use a long shanked Snaffle on CJ.. I finally balked at "bit 
escalation" when Terry wanted to try an aldonian at one point. and while it 
took years to finally settle CJ.. she's very rideable in a snaffle now.. 
although she doesn't have the mind set to be a trail horse and I don't see 
putting a harsher bit in her mouth to get her to do something she doesn't 
have the mind for.
