There is a free patch (6.5->6.55) over a meg in size. The owners 
(SAS) are allowing the programmers to continue bugfixing on their
own time, and another bugfix is in progress. These will come at
a slow pace, I'm afraid, as it is an act of love, not duty.

Bug reports directed to their support forum on Bix will get a
sympathetic ear.
