Thanks Rowan, that explains what's going on. My testing
        of this has now ended and it will be logged as a major DOS
        bug in my department, which is test instrumentation. Most of our
        equipment is left on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will either
        write a TSR to request the date every so often or insert dummy
        requests in the programs....ugh!   When data is saved (and what
        is a computer system supposed to do EXCEPT save data) then the 
        date must be correct, especially in manufacturing. By the way,
        Microsoft's technical assistance crew didn't have a clue about
        this. I really appreciate your help.
