Ring bearer pillows sound like a perfect use for ribbon embroidery.
I'm not sure about regular pillow cases mostly because I don't think
I'd like the feel of something not totally smooth to sleep on.
I had the same feeling you expressed about not being sure how the ribbon
stuff would wash.  I did pins first because they were small pretty
projects to start on and also because several people said the ribbon
sometimes bleeds.  Recently I embroidered on 2 blouses and washed them
in the washing machine and dried them in the dryer.  One was even a
white blouse.  Anyway, both washed and dried just fine.  I sent one to
Sue Verstraete.  Hopefully she'll tell us truthfully if it holds up.
