Many Ebay auctions specify US only. I'm guessing those who sell on Yahoo Auctions Japan have contacts who buy in the US, and mail in bulk to Japan to resell at "retail" rates. I.e. %100 markup on what you show above. Postage from the US is actually more reasonable for light big boxed items like a //e. For software, express postage can really knock up the price.
