Is it Red Hat? I've always seen RH based setups connect ADSL via ppp0.
David -- If you wish, I can send you my Bastille-netfilter script. It does
an iptables NAT firewall suitable for a small home LAN w/o servers and
confirms each step to syslog, handles start/stop/restart and status.
