On Sunday January 11, 2009, Andrew Clarke said to Frank Linhares... AC> If you can get BinkD to build under AmigaOS then it might not be a huge AC> task to port HTick. You should probably become familiar with how HTick AC> is built on Linux or FreeBSD though. It's not as straightforward as it AC> could be. BinkD was not easy, let me tell you. Plus, you can't run it as a daemon (The Amiga general only have 2-8 Megs of memory) as it would chew up all of the memory. AC> In particular: AC> - htick depends on fidoconf AC> - fidoconf depends on smapi AC> - smapi has no dependencies I'm not sure how familiar you are with the Amigas programming structure, but it sounds to me that you would have to build fidoconf and smapi as libraries and work on hticks code to pull from those libraries. I'm quite familiar with how the husky suite works, but i'm not sure the small processor and memory map of the Amiga will handle all of this, but I have already started to work on smapi. I'll let everyone know how it goes. >> Frank Linhares aka Netsurge >> Misery BBS - telnet://miserybbs.com - netsurge{at}miserybbs.com --- Zeus BBS 1.5* Origin: Misery BBS - Amiga BBSin At It's Best (1:250/502.0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/201 34/999 120/228 123/500 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 393/68 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 250/502 100 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
