Concerning _Pro-2035_, Charles George said to Troy H. Cheek in SCANRADIO:

Well, if you ever run across anything like that again, please snag a copy for
me. I'll probably end up going with the 2042, so I'll also be interested in
any mods you run across for it.

I originally got into scanners to keep up with local happenings while at work
(I'm security at the county hospital). 20 channels will comfortably hold all
the common police/emergency frequencies in the area.
Unfortunately, I then developed a habit of listening to the scanner on the
road, and needed more channels and banks so I wouldn't have to keep
reprogramming the scanner every time I went out of town. As I started to
spend more time looking for new frequencies, I looked to scanners with better
and better search capabilities, more and more channels, etc.
Somewhere along the line, I realized that I'd just blown completely out of
the water any plans I had about buying a more modern computer this year.

That is neat, isn't it?
CG> Itraded the PRO-2006 for some ham gear I wanted at the time.
One guy I know just traded another a 10 channel scanner for a haldheld CB
radio. I found out about it because both came to me asking for advice.
