I knew this lady once.  Her name was Anne but we all called her
"Mom"  she'd had five kids and would tune you outr unless you
yelled "MOM!" at her. The west wall of her bed room was packed
solid with video tapes.  no shelves, no storage.  Just a thousand tapes. 
All the shows shew liked, opr thought she might.  All the movies on cable
TV she might like.

I looked at that and realized she'd never in her life have enbough time to
watch them all.  I was young and stupid so I probably mentioned it to her.

Ever since,  I have like 5 or 6 tapes.  I tape a shopw, I watch a show, and
that's it.  it gets taped over.  Life is too shortand I am not enough money
for long term storage.

I am surprised you can still get tape for Reeel-to-real machines. A
co-worker is leaving early today to tote an old analog 4 track recorder to
Seattle for a friend of hers.  She told the guy at the instrument store
that her friend cringes and shudders at the thought of digital recording. 
I thought of Garry. But I am learning.  I didn't say a damned thing.
