Hello Alexey,

My terminal uses UTF-8, and while I can convert *some* things from other
codepages to UTF-8 with the limitations of the ".chs" charset files, I cannot
convert back. So I just choose to post strictly with UTF-8. :)

AV> So, the /bin/vi (actually, vim-minimal) works with text in KOI8-R.

Ah okay. Same her for me with UTF-8. UTF-8, KOI8-R, and even Russian and
Ukranian text in CP866 don't display properly in Golded, but as soon as I reply
to the message, I load nano up and can see it just fine.

Kind of a hackish workaround, but if I need or want to see the text, I'll just
reply to it so nano is loaded. Whether I reply to it is a different story. :)

I've tinkered with Golded enough to know that it doesn't support, and most of
the workarounds out there don't work, either. While I don't mind seeing garbage
characters in Golded while I'm reading, as long as if I'm going to reply to it
and use an external editor, it displays correctly - I suppose I can live with
it.

I use UTF-8 here on all my Linux systems. So it's nice to be able to keep
things simple and not have to change my font or anything like that just for
Fidonet.

I also have much less use for KOI8-R than you do. :)

Regards,
Nick
