I gave up on bifocals. What I do is just have the optometrist make me a
pair of 'monitor' glasses for the distance that I view the computer monitor
at.
Thankfully for reading I can just push up my normal glasses ( near sighted
prescription ) out of the way. That solution may not work for everyone but
for me it's been a joy to do away with the neck pains of bifocals
