Pro:  Speed and stability.  It beats dial-up like Mike Tyson taking on the
school nerd.
It's always there.  Your internet connection is 24/7, provided the thing is working.
If you have multiple computers you can have multiple connection working at
the same time.  In this house we have three computer with internet access. 
No one has to wait for e-mail or surfing privileges.

Con:  It is more expensive than dial-up for no real reason other than the
cable company usually has a monopoly on cable in your area.  You can't shop
around and have to take what you're given. It's always there.  Your
internet connection is 24/7.  this means if your computer is on, you are
connected.  You have to take measures to protect your system a little more
seriously.
