Well put.  Being a sucker for punishment certainly helps as long as one is also
stubborn and willing to adapt.

Same here except looking at the arm based distributions available I think
slackware arm might be the best at the moment.  The current branch looks to be
more than a step or two ahead of the game with respect to a gcc/glibc based
system ought to look like.  I haven't looked at their build scripts yet but
just eyeballing and comparing that to the others has offered much insight.  If
deciding to take the plunge I think that would be the best starting point.
