I've never tried the glass table method but it does sound interesting.
Since most of my building is models with 60" (and up) wingspans, the
price of a 1/2" glass sheet that large would probably be out of my range.

Not mine - I have two doors, laid end to end, on a 2"x4" leveled and
braced platform. My advice posted earlier should have mentioned the
unlying platform as being essential to good model building. TTYL - Roger
