Hi Scott,
SZ>>I'll grant you that! The collapse of the Red Sox has to be found
somewhere
SZ>>and I guess chemistry is as good an explanation as any. You've also got
SZ>>a good point about the Mariners, especially last year. This year they
SZ>>seem to be having a bit more trouble, but they've got 2 major players out
SZ>>(Griffy & Johnson) rather than just one.
They could get back Johnson, Bosio and Junior within a two week period
this month. And, they have managed to stay close (thanks mostly to my
beloved Rangers who won two of six from them during the most recent
weeks). Imagine what they will do when those three get back, if they
are all really healthy.
SZ>>As a longtime KC Royals fan, I know how far chemistry can carry a team.
Th
SZ>>1985 World Championship team didn't have the stats of most champs, but
they
SZ>>always seemed to find a way to win. Looking back at that team, I find
SZ>>it pretty amazing that they accomplished what they did! However, I don't
SZ>>think ANY amount of chemistry could save this years team...
I don't think so either. I follow the Royals pretty closely, ( I work
for a company based in KC, and my boss & I have frequent discussion)
and I do feel that the groundwork has been laid for the future,
though. Sometimes, however, I just can't seem to figure Boone out. He
makes some of the most contrary decisions I have ever seen made. That
is one of thier problems, I think, lack of consistancy, even from the
manager. They are young, though. It could be *very* exciting for
Royals fans in a couple of years.
SZ>>Don't get me wrong; if it wasn't for the fact that I've recently
elocated
SZ>>to the Pacific Northwest, I'd be rooting for the Rangers! As it is, I'd
SZ>>like to see them get the wildcard so they can get the "never been in
SZ>>the playoffs" monkey off their back.
Amen to that!
I'm just not ready to award them
SZ>>the AL West title halfway through the season, especially with their
history
SZ>>However, I wish them luck!
They will need it. But, most teams need thier fair share of luck to
win the division. Hope it works out this time.
