I don't think it's a driver, I've got all the drivers installed and it
looks to me more like some third party program/driver is causing the
problem.

I've got 2 of these thinkpads, all the power management drivers are
identical and yet the other one shuts down right and this one doesn't. I
don't know if its related, but the microphone on the other one works and on
this one it doesn't, can't find out the cause of that either.
