No one knew she was Clint Eastwood's daughter until the house burned down. She had climbed out of her bedroom window to escape the fire, and was on the garage roof, frozen with fear. The neighbours saved her. She was seven at the time, so she'd be about 8 now, because it think it was about a year ago. The fire and the heroic efforts of the neighbours were on the news, then, withint hours, Clint Eastwood had flown up here, personally sought out each person who had been involved in trying to save the house, phoning the fire brigade, saving his daughter and her mother, and trying to save their belongings. He shook the hand of everyone who took part, then vanished again. Not one of the neighbours would talk to the reporters about what he'd said or whether or not there was a reward, because they all said he was such a decent gentleman that they didn't want to betray his privacy. He did have kind words to say to the reporters here before he left, and what he chose to say in person was all they ever got about him. Once their cover was blown, the child and her mother moved. He wanted her to grow up out of the view of the media so that she could have a "normal" life. I respected him a great deal for the way he behaved throughout the whole thing. A genuine gentleman, but not one who could be pushed around. It's pretty tricky to be both. > LJ --- Rachel's Little NET2FIDO Gate v 0.9.9.8 Alpha* Origin: Rachel's Experimental Echo Gate (1:135/907.17) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 135/907 123/500 106/1 379/1 633/267 |
