FIDOSlax Linux - a compact and fast distribution Russian Linux distribution,
which can run on a hard drive partition, USB-flash drive or CD / DVD-ROM.
FIDOSlax Linux is a hybrid distribution, and occupies an intermediate position
between normal distributions and Live distributions. You can use FIDOSlax Linux
and Open Source applications on the computer in parallel with the installed
hard disk MS Windows on NTFS and FAT32 partitions, as well as on partitions
with native Linux filesystem. FIDOSlax Linux is based on the distribution Remix
Linux, but its functionality extended with additional capabilities:

1. Enhanced and simplified user support for Russian language - quick
substitution encoding CP1256, KOI8-R and UTF-8 using the command lang;
2. Repository software - currently the number of collected software modules for
32-bit versions of the distribution - 1168 units, and 64-bit beta version
FIDOSlax - 371 module. The distribution FIDOSlax built a simple package manager
lzm-modules - for search, information, download and activation of additional
software modules;
3. Added tools to automatically create software modules from the source, based
on ported to FIDOSlax Linux tools crux4slack, Arch Linux ABS / AUR and
repositories SlackBuilds. Also added funds for the mass creation of modules;
4. A new method of storing data "Magic Folders" allows you to
store your data
and settings FIDOSlax on a USB-flash drive or hard drive partition;
5. Added tools to be installed on the hard disk boot Grub4DOS for installation
with MS Windows on same disk or boot via EXTLINUX on partitions ext3, ext4;
6. FIDOSlax already contains a pre-configured software for remote access to
your desktop. After you set the password for the session, you can use any
vnc-client to work remotely in FIDOSlax;
7. 32-bit version of the distribution FIDOSlax 1.0 includes a basic set of
applications - kernel 2.6.31.1, Xorg 1.9.2, KDE 3.5.10, Firefox 3.6.13, and
other applications;

Also FIDOSlax is distribution, which is already embedded software for network
FIDONet using the method of FIDO over IP (binkd, husky hpt and GoldED-NSF).

Using FIDOSlax Linux you can quickly and easily connect to a network Fidonet -
everything you need to do is contact one of the network operators, listed in
