JS>= I am thinking of buying a photocopy machine for home-office use.
JS>= Will post the model numbers later, but basically I'm looking at
JS>= some Xerox models and a Cannon, in the $500-$800 price range at Sam's
JS>= Club (Wal-Mart affiliate).
JS>= Anyone have any experience with copiers? I am looking for something
JS>= reliable that won't keep breaking down and needing service. I run
hings
JS>= over to the local copy shop (Office Depot or Kinko's), but I'm wasting a
JS>= lot of time doing that, there are delays in getting things done, etc.
JS>= Any info you could provide would be of help.
Hi Joe,
Having dealt with many brand name copiers over the last 20 years (I'm in the
Navy
and am setting up a Home based business), IMHO, the RICOH makes an excellent
desktop photocopier. Which ever brand you get, make sure the model will keep
up
with the volume of copies you make, and then some (say an increase in volume
for
the next 2 to 3 years). If you purchase a model that's is less than
dequate,
you'll be having service calls to it all the time, and it won't last very
long.
Also, a good investment is a Service Contract. Once those warranties run out,
Maintenance is expensive! And keep up with regular Planned Preventative
Maintenance. You'll be able to do most of that yourself, and gives allows
ou
to excellent quality copies.
I just read in one of the Computer Shoppers that some of the companies are
make
a combo FAX/Laser Printer/Photo Copier/Scanner all in one. Check out the
August
issue of the Computer Shopper. good luck.
Regards,
W. Wagner
