When my A22m Thinkpad suffered a Diet Coke spill, I started to try to take
it apart but gave up when I had out all the visible screws (including the
ones with the little round black plugs covering the heads) and it still
wouldn't budge.

So I replaced all the screws and dress plugs, and let it sit on its edge
for two weeks hoping that all the liquid would run out, then called IBM
warranty service.  They replaced the processor and the motherboard.  No one
said anything to me about how there had been an obvious attempt to
disassemble, nor was anything said about finding any Diet Coke residue.
