Water's safer in this case - it's what's used to clean up the boards after
wave soldering at the plant, and Coke is water soluble.

Just take your time taking it apart, the hard part is remembering which
length screws go in which holes. A digital camera comes in handy - at each
stage take a picture, print it out and circle the screw positions on the
picture (mark the lengths if they differ), then put the screws, picture and
the parts held down by the screws into a ziplock bag. (I keep a stock of
antistatic bags that hard drives etc came in to hold the electronic
components within the ziplock bag.) I can get a laptop apart and back
together without having to do this if I do it in one session, but if it has
to wait a few days before going back together I go the picture and bag
route. Apart from the memory problem, it means the parts don't get
scattered. Those little screws can be a right pain to find on the floor.
