        I figured that it was normal. After all these loops have
  to be run and done and this CPU is only 1.2 MHz. I see this too,
  but slightly, on the Thinkpad that runs at 2.53 MHz. Shades of my
  Commodore days. That was quite evident there.

        I do not really know what swap-file is all about. My
  system here has 1 gig of RAM and maybe that explains it all. It
  runs at 30% of RAM used. Not much swapping going on.
