subject: Adding Internal file info

While listening to Gary Weinfurther Pete heard:Adding Internal file info
G'day Gary
 PC> Does anyone know how to add file information to a Delphi EXE
 PC> file?. The type of info i mean is the info you get by
 PC> highlighting a Windows EXE or DLL in filemanager then clicking
 PC> File->Properties.
 GW> You ned to create a resource file that contains a version
 GW> resource. You can do this with Borland's Resource Workshop, for
 GW> one. Once you have the RES file, you attach it to your
 GW> application witht the statement:
 GW> {$R MyFile.res}
 GW> Be sure you do not name your resource file the same as your
 GW> project name, or it will get overwritten.
Thanks for the info Gary, Curt Tabor said the same thing, I assume
this Resource Workshop only comes with Delphi Developer or greater. I
have Delphi Desktop and the resource editor that comes with it seems
to only create icons, bitmaps, cursors etc. Do you know if the *.res
file containing the version info is binary or text.
     Pete.
