Hello Bonnie,
this is good that the Fido echo will survive!  If you were to go with a 
mailing list type approch, the messages comming in to the mailing list could 
also be posted here to allow people that do not have internet to read them.  
Even the replies from this echo could be sent out on the mailing list.  That 
could get the best of both worlds where a person could choose the vehicle of 
thier own choice to participate in the audio discussions.
